That's What I'Ve Been Trying To Tell You Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

That's What I'Ve Been Trying To Tell You

I shouldn't say,
I could care less what you think.
Even hearing myself say that to you,
Has come back to offend...
My open and liberal point of view.
And normally I am not so blunt,
When confronted by limitation.

What I should have said,
With a showing and giving you more respect...
Is sometimes I might neglect,
Prioritizing your opinion.
Especially when I am not in the mood,
To agree with your stupidity.
And I am sure you think the same of me.

'But I did not call you stupid.'

~I know.
Did you now wish to take that opportunity?
You can if you don't agree with my earlier assessment.~

'What difference would it make? '

~None.
And that's what I've been trying to tell you.~
