The 'baby Food' Hypothesis. Poem by Stephen Katona

The 'baby Food' Hypothesis.

Let's have a little natter,
About why people are getting fatter.
In nature it is rare to find sugar mixed with fat.
So why do most of us love chocolate?
A cave-man would never dream,
Of eating a whole tub of ice-cream.
There's sugar and fat in food from our mother,
In nature we used to find it from no other.
Now when we feel depressed,
We crave food like milk from the breast.
That's why roast pork with apple sauce,
Makes you eat like a horse.
This food industry trick,
Makes so many of us sick.
They don't want us to stop,
Buying food til we pop.
An addiction that helps babies thrive,
Puts our appetite on over-drive.
Fat mixed with sugar is a spell,
To help shops sell.

Try not to use this 'Baby Food',
To improve your mood.
Avoid fat mixed with sugar on your plate,
To start losing weight.
When you have chips, stop and think,
Of water instead of that sugary drink.
Try not to add something sweet,
To your favourite meat.
Think what will be in your next bite,
To keep control of your appetite.

It is a beautiful poem on baby food having touching expression on a scientific base. We must avoid fat-sugar mixed food. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem.10

Thank you for your kind words Mahakul. I hope these simple words empower people to resist the addictive food combinations we now have.

(cont.) interesting hypothesis and a fine deed to suggest it! ! ! someone i love but don't always agree with finds FAULT with 'fat people', thinking they SHOULD be able to and SHOULD loose weight and keep it OFF! maybe this will help some of 'them' so the person i know won't have to 'stew' (stew with fat, no sugar) . (cont.) i think i used to use 'til for until, ..until i read somewhere online that it's not so acceptable now as till is. so i would use till, not til. of course i'm not in U.K.; they MAY be different. heck. they ARE different! ! ! Avoid fat mixed with sugar on your plate, ..ok, i shall start using two plates (side by side): one will be for sugar and one for fat. think of THAT! (cont.)

(cont.) i never heard of natter: nat·ter ˈnadər/ informal verb 1. talk casually, especially about unimportant matters; chatter. noun noun: natter; plural noun: natters 1. a casual and leisurely conversation. HOW WOULD YOU know WHAT a caveman would dream of, ...except the neighbor caveman's wife? ? yes! i recall mom's sugar/fat food: chocolate chip cookies! ! i helped make AND eat them. (cont.)

(cont.) and, as an extra hint: i've found that sometimes when i edit the title and or text of a poem already submitted, i end up with multiple listings for the poem in my list of poems. then some readers look at one and some at another. (cont.)
