The Bowlers Trap Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

The Bowlers Trap

If you hang out your bat loose
The slip'll turn you to a moose
Foot movement; find the gap
Get it through n' avoid the bowler's trap

Direct hit, bails to tease
Bat short of the crease
His bat back to the pavillion, he drags
And the silence of the crowd he bags

The excitement of finding the ropes
The cheers, the hightened hopes
All the hits, all the catches, all the drops
The bounces, the spins, the altered odds
