The Christmas Yearning Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Christmas Yearning

How I yearn for the bustle of the Christmas crowd long ago
With people laughing and excitement
Of the coming celebrations
But now, it has put me in a frightful mood
The yelling at the cashier; just too much
I yearn for silence as my love for the day dimishes
I wish people would stop to think
It is love for yr fellow man is important
Not the latest toy
When G-d bestows us His Son
To save us from damnation
We don't stop thinking about the gifts
And further we leave the reason
Of the Child born in Bethlehem
Furtherwe become less human

Yes, to many people see this time of year as a chance for gifts only - not the emotion

Nice poem LeeAnn...in some cases this is true but our love for the Lord and from the Lord should help keep our spirits up..as we focus on the greatest gift...the gift of our Salvation when we repent and believe...Hallelujah what a Saviour! A very merry Christmas to you...
