The Clock Poem by Jahan Zeb

The Clock

Rating: 5.0

Consider not it a meek sound,
This tick tucks tick tuck of the clock,
They, on your precious life,
Are strokes of deadly hammer.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I don't know whether it's a new idea or not but I translated it from my mother tongue Pashto. I am not the poet behind this thought and don't want to take the credit for the thought.

A great poem, when we watch the clock, we watch our life tick away.

The thought sent shivers through me.Even though it's a thing everyone knows. the chosen words intensify the idea, making it seem deadly. And that's where the greatness of a poet lies. Great poem.
