The Colour Blue: Part 2 Poem by Paula Glynn

The Colour Blue: Part 2

I love the colour blue,
For it is a universal colour,
The colour of the crashing sea,
The colour of lakes and rivers,
The colour of a heart-warming bath,
The colour of a sunny sky,
The colour of rain,
For when rain falls,
The blue becomes deeper,
Darker and stranger,
For this is a world of colour.

There are green forests, trees,
And fields,
There are yellow flowers,
And a yellow sun,
That glows in the warm sunlight,
The blue of the sky magnificent,
For even the Roman's,
Could not conquer the blue sky.

A sky such a deep blue at night,
Where stars shine bright,
And even outside our world,
Galaxies and planets spin blue,
Our eyes wandering,
To the strange, beautiful and bizarre,
Place that is the universe.

And every morning I see the sky,
I feel like the colour blue:
Amazing, spectacular, awesome,
And deeply special,
A planet never to be stopped,
Like the crashing of the waves,
Onto a beach.
