The Death Of Emily Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Death Of Emily

Wash me from head to toe
When I longer breathe
Be careful with my face
For it was torn
With the sobbing of the heart
And please, don't curse my love
I am better off with this broken heart
Than a lonely one

A fascinating poem, LeeAnn. I wish you had included a poet's note to tell us more about this. My gut feeling is that this poem is about Emily Dickinson, but am I wrong? Did you have a close friend named Emily who just passed away? Tell us more, please! (Thanks for posting.)
