The dreaded COVID-19 virus pandemic is a cataclysm

My two embroidered flowers with their "myriad of petals flashed their colours into the air".
I felt the "engine of renewal" restart the ignition of work
"We walked around the story right in our city"
With our mandatory masks resting on our chins
Wishing that the COVID-19 pandemic crisis would end;

In my last poem where I paid a tribute to COVID-19 virus victims
With excerpts from a newspaper,
I made a few specific remarks from their obituaries
And the pathos of the whole tragedy,
People dying like flies
Without being given a chance to recover
Comes out in bold letters;

However, luckily when this evening, I referred to The Globe and Mail
For obituaries on COVID-19 virus victims,
I found several touching ones of lives well spent
But none of the deaths were COVID related
Toronto has had a total of 2787 deaths because of the corona virus
And the crisis has left our lives changed forever;

I don't think the world will breathe easy
And our sanguine selves have become wary of the future
It is the worst time to be graduating
As my son is within the end of this summer
But thanks to PM Justin Trudeau and his government's timely economic measures
And the efforts of the doctors and health care worker and researchers,
Canadians have almost survived the crisis;

A deficit of $300 billion plus that Canada has to deal with
Is a legacy that has stood steadfast by us,
In particular, the ones who were hard hit by losing their jobs
And others who were homeless and at high risk
Wondering whom to turn to;

Genesis dictates that the world
Be hounded by a nemesis every once in a while
And at this time, it is the COVID-19 virus crisis
And the hypothesis is research and analysis
Is going to bring about a catharsis, a change for the better and a cure plus vaccine.
