The Ganga Poem by Mohammad Muzzammil

The Ganga

The Ganga, a river of legend and lore,
A sacred stream, worshiped and adored,
Its waters flow, from the Himalayan range,
A journey of a thousand miles, a miracle of change.

It meanders through the plains of the north,
A lifeline of the land, its wealth and worth,
It feeds the soil, and quenches the thirst,
Of millions who live, and millions who first.

It flows through cities, ancient and new,
Varanasi, Allahabad, and Haridwar too,
A witness to history, a cradle of culture,
A river of faith, a symbol of stature.

It carries with it, a story so old,
Of gods and goddesses, and tales untold,
Of kings and kingdoms, of wars and peace,
Of love and devotion, that never cease.

Its banks are lined, with ghats and shrines,
Where devotees gather, to offer their fines,
Their prayers and hymns, a soulful devotion,
A union with the divine, a heavenly emotion.

Oh, Ganga, your waters so pure,
A source of life, a balm so sure,
May you flow forever, in all your might,
A river of hope, a beacon of light
