You might say I am crazy
Obsessive, insane
But I'm just a girl
With an American name
I try to be nice
Make everything right
But in my head
There is a fight
Am I too clingy?
Did I text too much?
They say less is more
Wait, am I a bore?
I am not perfect
Inside and out
How can I keep myself
From thinking aloud?
I don't want to get older
It feels like a race
I am scared to see
The first lines on my face
Did I take a good selfie?
Is the lighting ok?
When will these bad thoughts
Ever go away?
I wish you were here
To make me feel better
But I don't even know
If you'll read my letter
Misunderstandings
Can go a long way
I never know
Quite what to say
I may be clueless
Confused and unsure
But there is one thing
I know for sure
So tell me how can I
Make you understand
I only need you, Darling
To take my hand!
And if you ever
Feel lost in the crowd
I hope you think of the girl
I just told you about
Being a girl is something normal, but being a talented poet who can plant these words in poetry land nowadays is not. Keep up, Well written.
Julie, wonderful poem, I. Love ryhthm of this, If I might suggest one small thing? If you change the second line in the last stanza to a stronger rhyme I think it would really enhance the ending. Maybe something like Feel full of doubt. I look forward to reading more. Keep writing

They are the ones who begin to understand what life is really about, those people who ask questions. As you grow older and wiser your questions change. Never stop asking questions, though, never satisfy yourself with what is happening on the surface. Your life will be deeper than those who just ride along on the surface, your poetry will be more meaningful than the foolish ocean of noise surrounding you. Keep asking!
