The Greatest Lie Poem by Randy McClave

The Greatest Lie

Rating: 5.0

The greatest lie that was ever achieved
Was the easiest one ever conceived,
It was the one used that easily deceived
It was the greatest lie ever believed.

It was a great lie that baffled and tricked
Suffering and doubt it did easily inflict,
The real truth it would always contradict
By a great deceiver, this lie was created and picked.

This lie was used purposely to create doubt
Without faith many then did without,
Many then sinfully walked a different route
Because of a lie, they were told and read about.

Many wanted this lie to be true
Even after the true facts they did read and view,
But, of course this lie was ancient and not new
So, the lie it just grew.

The greatest lie that was ever spoke
Was the one that many saw as a joke,
Was the lie used to which many removed their yoke
The one laughed about and mocked with a poke.

This lie was always assisted
With family, friends, strangers, exes and the tightfisted,
The greatest lie ever known and listed
Was the lie, that the devil never existed.
