How comfortable were
The birds and squirrels
In the stupendous foliage
Of the grand old Peepul tree.
Love was there in the heart of the tree
And It fondled them dearly
With soft leaves and tender twigs
And fed them the best of its fruits.
Tired and worn out of a hard journey
Wayfarers found its shade a haven
The friend of man, beasts and birds
Has unkindly been felled and cut into logs.
"Destiny of trees like me being the same
I am not at all bothered of my pain
But of the little beings I have loved
And who have become shelterless",
It grieved.
A very thought provoking poem indeed. Yeah, this issues of merciless destruction of nature is a great concern for all. we are losing the wealth of nature day by day and tht too in a very alarming rate. The birds and beasts are losing their shelters and dying. You have raised the issue in a very clever way through this poem. Thanks for sharing.10++
Thanks a lot dear AKP. Man is indiscriminately indulged in destroying the wealth of nature that has to be preserved to maintain a healthy nature for our next generation
I too have expressed the same thoughts in some of my poems.....! Trees provide not only shade, shelter, flowers and fruits but the life giving oxygen. Without them, man has no existence. But still man keeps felling down trees and destroys the biodiversity of the Earth and leave many creatures homeless! Your concern is beautifully expressed!
Thank you very much Valsa George for the comments and for the similar concern over the life of trees which are useful to man in many ways and to the birds and beasts their dear homes
