The Last Fruit Gone - 3 Borrowed Glory Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

The Last Fruit Gone - 3 Borrowed Glory

Rating: 5.0

The Last Fruit Gone - 3

The pumpkin vine grew roots
at every hairy nodal foot
wherever it traveled, to explore
water and nutrients galore,

on the young mango tree
it climbed with full vigor and glee
enjoyed the bright sunshine free
and went on a flowering spree.

The mango tree was really proud
full of flowers in colours loud
on the immense glory borrowed
to stand out in the lush green crowd.

A meaningful and wonderful poem adorned with great imagery. Everything we have will perish in due time. They are just temporary.

A thought provoking write! I ask the question, when mango tree is capable of sweet delicious fruit, what is its necessity to hanker after borrowed glory.

Her longing for the lost glory made has accept the borrowed glory. Thank you, Bharati

This is the third part of the story. Please read the previous parts and you'll understand. The mango season was over and the mango was devoid of flowers, fruit and all glamour in which she'd basked
