The Late Lovely Lisa Shaw Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

There was once a brilliant BBC presenter
from BBC Radio Newcastle
she was also a much-loved wife
and gorgeous mother

all of a sudden she died at the age of 44
after a very short illness, she's now no more

Lisa Shaw died in hospital after a short illness,
Radio presenting was her zest

all her BBC Newcastle colleagues were very sad
after having heard Lisa was suddenly dead

the BBC shared a statement
from Lisa's family which said
she was so very excellent
now we are so deepest sad

she was an amazing person
who had touched and enriched so many many persons lives,
and made them better just by being in it.

we are all completely heartbroken,
in disbelief, numb, and saddened token
that there is a Lisa-shaped hole
in our lives that will never get whole,
never ever be filled again, to us her family told
