The Little Match Girl Poem by Shaun Cronick

The Little Match Girl

Rating: 5.0

The story called The Little Match Girl,
Is the most heart-breaking ever told.
Written by Hans Christian Andersen,
Of a little girl dying in the cold.

A real tear jerker until near the end,
Revealing magic from heaven above.
As the soul of this poor girl is taken,
To a land of dreams and unending love.

Dedicated to the memory and legacy of Hans Christian Andersen.
The most saddest yet uplifting story I've ever read.

A nice, little poem of two stanzas, but full in expression. Loved the poet's notes. The poem deserves a 10 from me, and given!
