The Living War
It may be because war involves life
humans in senseless strife
the war alike
becomes alive
so much so war planners
can never be sure how it will pan out
Even with the most meticulous planning
and massive out gunning
war takes a life of its own
Unknown
Great powers have been defeated
and it's been repeated
The Zulu defeating the well armed British
Quite brutish
The Tswana defeating the Ndebele
At Ok Coral the kid, Billy
History teaches us
in the fuss
generals still sleep walk into battle
getting startled
when the war takes a life of its own
their hope of a quick victory blown
rudimentary AK47s
making them go 'Good heavens'
Losing more
in the living war.
