The Lord Jesus has delayed His second coming
Violence, wars and rumors of wars have been spread
And we are still here watching acts unbecoming
The world is set for destruction; drums are drumming
Belief in Him and former day prophets are dead
The Lord Jesus has delayed His second coming
The world is divided; attacks are incoming
With trucks, guns, knives and bombs; and the street runs red
And we are still here watching acts unbecoming
Social media broadcasts a self's shortcoming
bringing repercussions of the things that you dread
The Lord Jesus has delayed His second coming
Elijah has come; we look to our homecoming
The scriptures verify everything He has said
And we are still here watching acts unbecoming
The Savior's foot on Mount Zion is forthcoming
Our sins are remitted from the time that He bled
The Lord Jesus has delayed His second coming
And we are still here watching acts unbecoming
Aha another villanelle.. wondrously constructed. You have done your homework Now we need to get Kelly writing one.
Thanks much, Wes. They are rather restrictive, so are not that easy.
I am not very familiar with villanelles, but it appears that you have followed the rules for creating one perfectly. The is a scripture somewhere that states that no man knows the hour of his coming. He will come when the time is right. 'If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.'
Thanks, Kim. Judging by the conditions of the world, I think it will be soon.
Violence, wars and rumors of wars have been spread and such a time provokes thought. Lord Jesus has delayed his second coming and humanity is still waiting for him. The world is divided and attacks are incoming. Everywhere we find sorrows and agony. We hope Lord will come soon to was sins from this world and establish peace. An excellent thoughtful poem is shared.10

I enjoyed this thought-provoking poem. You have done well in producing a villanelle.
Thank you Grace. This was my first, but probably not my last.
