The Married Pair Poem by Obinna Kenechukwu Eruchie

The Married Pair

Rating: 4.8

The married pair has lived like one alone;
their communion, mute and cold as a stone,
settles them in the dreary mood of night.
When in their house, a guest-foot sets on sight,
delight like the sun ascends in their eyes;
when to themselves they are left, the blaze dies
in their eyes. Hence both seek to walk the road
to heaven to occupy their abode.
