The Perfect Ending Poem by G J Salgado

The Perfect Ending

Rating: 5.0

You told me
That you don't like to lie
When you hold me
I don't have to ask why

I hear the thunder when you're sleeping
But I don't know the company you're keeping

I love the way the lightning hits your face
The rain falls upon an unkept place

I never tried to go
Your flaws began to show

I lay awake to watch you sleep
I let myself get in way too deep

You didn't know what you wanted
I never guessed how things ended

You began to hate the way the lightning hits my face
The rain fell upon an unkept place

You never tried to go
My flaws began to show

We would lay awake in bed
We were way over our heads

We didn't know what we wanted
We never guessed how it all ended
