The Poet And The Nightingale Poem by Laquory Jones

The Poet And The Nightingale

I looked into her eyes then I heard
Her sigh with tears dripping down
Her face. Hearts then gives chase
Emotions bled from deep inside
I couldn't bring myself to say
Goodbye. No matter how hard
I had began to try the Earth began
To tremble underneath my feet
As my world started crumbling.

I stumbled just to speak it's
Desperation at its peak as thoughts
Began to leak at first I was just too
Blind to see that it was me all along.
Just stringing on because deep down
I didn't want to be alone it's a sad tale
Of the Poet and his Nightingale.

He was in need of her aid he had become
Her sun with her as his shade. Together life
Had given way to their eternity. He loved
Her tremendously beyond belief the things
She made him believe had put his mind at
Ease. It was then he began to see his true
Value but before he could tell her so,
She had to go by spreading her wings.

She then flew If only she'd known what she
Had meant to him a precious gem. She
Had always been but In this world some-
Times you can't win even after all the
Love he had shown she still had to learn.
About life on her own chilling him down
To the bone and gripping at his core.

I guess he too had to learn about Life
As a whole. He was just a tad too young
To know about love but one thing he
Did know was that feelings grow when
Emotions show and that she had left an
Imprint upon his life that he would carry
For the rest of his days. It eats at his
Memories it just replays envisioning
Her leaving his heart's grieving waiting
For her return forever he waits for her
To get done with her journey. Half a
Century Passes by as hearts reignites.
The story of the poet and his nightingale
Strikes gold to the hearts of Old to
Be retold for centuries to come.
