My goodness! My cat!
He's always asleep,
Stretched out on the carpet
In front of the fire,
Passive as a monk in prayer.
Such a glorious past life
Has given him this honour.
I am witnessing
The rebirth of a Saint.
My goodness! My cat!
How well you demonstrate
The power of laziness
Without equal,
And the sanctity of sleep.
Love this! My goodness! My Tom! You've got such a saintly cat. Your poem really does evoke the image well...and the admiration of its owner too. Thanks!
If re-incarnation is a fact, I shall be applying for a cat position in the home of some big, soft mug of a human servant who will provide me with steak and Peking Duck. Tom

How well you demonstrate The power of laziness Good observation. Only a poet can think ''laziness is also a power.'' No doubt laziness is also a power.. Cat and laziness co-related.10 for you.
He certainly knows how to relax. Meditation comes naturally to him. My one complaint is that he insists on being groomed first thing in the morning when I'm trying to down my first cup of coffee! Tom
