Progressive Supranuclear Palsy a degenerative brain disease:
Not to be confused with Alzheimer's or dementia
The PSP diagnosis needing a doctor's assessment
With the help of the PSP charity raising awareness with coffee mornings
Lectures and seminars and vital written literature
Their quarterly magazines packed full of important information
Telling how PSP affects balance, movement, vision, speech and swallowing.

With no known cure, research into PSP
Cannot be completely sure there will ever be a cure
But scientists are continually delving deep
Helping the vulnerable elderly peacefully at night sleep
And know their doctor has been made aware
Of a disease that does make one beware
Although the PSP charity trying to reassure rather than scare.

PSP running charity events every year
All in the name of raising money for the PSP charity
From Winter Walk: the Oval Cricket Ground
Distances between full marathon and half marathon
Seeing London's iconic landmarks, listening to the city's sound
From the River Thames and historic bridges from that time
Hot drinks and food waiting at the finish line.

Another charity Great North Run not just begun
Over 60,000 running from Newcastle to South Shields
The annual event raising the PSP charity £11,000
21 runners for PSP heroes of this half marathon event
With money that on research will be properly spent
No pound currency wasted or misspent
Other charity events where money is sensibly raised.

Carers of those who are diagnosed with PSP
Do attend PSP support groups to help them see
That they are not alone: even when working at home
Their parents or other struggling to do more than survive
Carers making ends meet when all they want to do is admit defeat
But PSP support groups are there for them like ointments:
Other carers sharing their difficulties and their disappointments.

PSP launching a new guide to PSP to help professionals see
Sending them to members of parliament to be made aware
MPs supporting local constituents: nothing to do with luck
From accessing benefits to sorting out healthcare
A vital public service that does need awareness of PSP
A terminal brain disease that needs continuous research
For the charity PSP does vital work and never gives up.

Even a Helpline Care Navigator does volunteer at PSP
Having previously worked for another charity like other staff
Now supporting people with PSP and carers
And raising awareness of PSP across
Greater London, Surrey, Essex and Kent
Knowing times on the telephone advising people is well spent
For PSP does host important money-raising event-after-event.
