The rats of Bangalore
By night play
In the garbage bay
As we watch Intrigued, enthralled?
Amused and yet disgusted
I say….
Huge rats small rats, slender rats
black rats brown and grey.
One looked up at me
No, no he looked past me
At the moon
I wonder if any of these rats at play
are related to
The rat who at Ganesh's feet
does lay.
