Don't worry, kid! You see - here is my hand
My tried palm remembers bows and darts
On it - the road of days, the brook of parting
To which you went so long from far away
Hold back! I never drink from shady streams
So, lying on the hills, calm down your breath
Forget all your uncertainty and weakness
Dissolve your doubts in this ephemeral peace
The strokes of years, remaining everywhere -
How many paths, my friend, we've trod together!
Who knows the land to which we both will carry
This web of roads on our stiff faces?
But you may leave your fear - here is my hand
Extended through the times to help you stand

I feel that it's not perfect, but at least it fits the original music.
The original Russian lyrics by V. Lantsberg:
Малыш, ты видишь: вот моя рука,
Ладонь, что помнит дротики и луки,
На ней - дорога Дней, ручей Разлуки,
К которому ты брел издалека.
Сдержись. Я из таких ручьев не пью.
К холмам припав горячею щекою,
Ты этому недолгому покою
Отдай всю неуверенность свою.
Следы часов, штрихи минут - на всем.
Каких мы только троп не накрутили!
Куда ж рисунки этой паутины
Мы на застывших лицах унесем?
