The sting
of a butterfly
conspicuous
by its absence.
Butterfly!
Unlike bees and wasps
it does not need one,
for it has no hive full
of little ones to feed,
to protect and safeguard.
Butterfly!
It's babies,
Caterpillars,
camouflaged by
and feed on
young leaves.
Beautifully pictured! .. Beautiful heart so beautifully expressed! .. Definite 5 Stars! ..++++++++++++++++
Hi Becca, thank you for the beautiful comments on the poem. And the top score. Great feeling.
The metamorphosis is stunningly beautiful! Just like your poem, Poet Menon!
Great pleasure to read your note on the poem. Thank You.
Caterpillars have many sting like hairs and as they are ugly in appearance, no need of sting.Beautifully crafted.
Ugly to our eyes. But it is dear food for many birds and small animals like cats. In some parts of the world, it is a favourite dish for man too. So, even ugliness is relative, Nabakishore
Thank You, Rose Marie for your time for reading this poem and sharing your comments on it. Thank You for the 5 *s too. Obliged
