The Stone And The Tears Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

The Stone And The Tears

I threw a stone into the sea,
It sank beneath, I couldn't see;
For the water was dark and deep
Like the night when sad people weep.

I let tears fade into the sea,
They disappeared, I couldn't see;
For the ocean swallowed them all
After the moment they did fall.

From where I stood, just near the dock
I saw a stone beside a rock;
The steadiness that I did long
Allowed the tears to make me strong.
