The Sun On A Summer's Day Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Sun On A Summer's Day

Rating: 5.0

Does the sun come out just when the rain subsides?
Or when after a snowfall?
Glistening in the sky with a rainbow
Or, making the whiteness gleam
The sun will always be there shining in yr eyes
Then, why does the clouds fill my heart when you leave?
The absence is like a fog that is thick as pea soup
And you are the sun on a summer's day
It melts when I hear yr voice on the other line
But even more as you hold me tight
So, come to me, my love, and shine on my heart
For the shadows from the mind are cracking like thunder
And I am beginning to be soaked with my tears
