The clock ticks on
Sometimes out of sync
But with a bittersweet sound
And it carries on second by second
Minute by minute
Hour by hour
Day by day
Week by week
Month by month
Year by year
Decade by decade
Century by century
Millennium by millennium
The measurement of time continuous.
The planet spins predictably in orbit
The earth revolves around the sun
The melancholy moon circles the earth
The amazing solar system rotates within itself
The galaxy moves with atomic motion
Light speeding through empty space
Stars expanding through galaxies
Dark matter and dark energy mysterious
Cosmologists learning more and discovering secrets
Of a universe beyond size and its measurement.
Spaceman X travelling through the Milkyway
Spaceships advanced in the earth year 5000
Science having advanced to incredible levels
Technology beyond imagination
Time taking the human race to the stars
Star Trek on the right space path
The Space Station monitoring earth
The moon where NASA builds spaceships
Along with other space agencies.
Mars the Red Planet to be another earth
Where astronauts do reside for experiments
Mars the legendary planet where humans will live
Three months on the spectacular spaceship
Passengers needing to feel no fear
When they had travelled in the past by airplanes
The sky perfectly safe for travellers
And time will carry on even then
The planet having been spinning billions of years
Both earth and Mars in the solar system's infancy
Centuries taking people from one place to another
The adventure of space travel only just begun.
