The Ultimate Ataraxia Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

The Ultimate Ataraxia

Rating: 5.0

How does God spend his time?
Observing Humanity manifesting itself?
‘I am not here to entertain your dreams;
Unless, they are in fusion with mine, ' He says.

We sacrifice our lives upon the altar of Impossibility:
Epistemic questions with no answers.
Nothing matters! —we are dissipating as a vapour...
Neither good nor bad—equal is the life's equation:
The time wasted in apathy, is almost close to blasphemy.

That state of neutrality between fire and death,
That segment of life in the middle:
What should we call it? —Does it serve any purpose?
Is it a preparation for passing into another life,
Far more superior than this? That vague fantasy of Heaven...

A vague eternity of nothingness...to knowing not
Wherefrom you come and where you go—
That must be the ultimate agony!
Life is only meaningful through the heart's lenses of love:
Love! —is the light which beautifies the darkness!

You are free to be whoever you are!
You are free to escape the cage of preconceived enslavement:
To inhale the life, and exhale into the atmosphere
The chemical compounds of your being:
You are free to write upon this planet
The cardiogram of your beating heart!

But the breeze breathes the agonised human-souls;
The oxygen does not suffice to harmonise
Their smouldering yearning, and they sink
Into an inundation of unspoken words, and worries:

Survive in insufficiency, and break their wings
In a tentative of flight: —they are the extinguished souls
Before an everlasting sunset: the lonely human-souls
Carrying their stone-crosses all their lives,
With pious eyes ever wondering at the two spheres of the sky:
How each day, and each night, the Sun and the Moon
Lead them unpredictably, to the place where they drop the crosses

Life is only meaningful through the heart's lenses of love: Love is the light which beautifies the darkness. You are free to be whoever you are; You are free to escape the cage of preconceived Enslavement; to inhale the life, and exhale Into the atmosphere the chemical compounds of your being: .....so touching and true. A strong composition on life and death. Gorgeous one.10
