(the)ungratefulness Of Thieves Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

(the)ungratefulness Of Thieves

Not only do they expect to get loyalty,
Expressed from those...
Openly eager and willing to please.
The ungratefulness of thieves,
Will take lost souls like these...
To barter or sell quickly to the devil.
As if toys to have collected.
Played with until,
They become worthless to use.
Just faceless commodities.

The ungratefulness of thieves,
Is an early indoctrination taught.
To know how to get things received,
Will be theirs to be given...
If they whine long enough.
Learning when to manipulate and deceive.
Without regret to feel.
Or signs of honesty to know it believed.

The ungratefulness of thieves,
If allowed will rise...
To authoritative heights.
Biting heads off whenever they like.
While taking the trust of those to throw,
Under a bus.
Left to then go.
Done to excuse the doing,
Like a child who grows up...
Choosing to destroy and destruct.
Just for the attention.
And being the center of it,
Is a must for them to get.
As if a necessity needed to breathe.
