The Weeping Flute - Poem by Anjalee Rukshna Waidyasekera

I hear a weeping flute
witha lamenting tune
A sad melody of a sad heart
I see the eye of heaven
behind a grey cloud
a dark cloud of a dark heart
a brown cannoe floats on the stream
a wave with a lonely noise
opens my heart and takes the voice
dreary trees meditate in dark
to gather more merrits
merry sins merry sins
A monk comes on a veary way
He takes steps so slowly
he chants to the poor dog
that comes behind his life's journey
now he passes my side
My friend see the beauty of sun
oh that peaceful melody
trees shakes with the blowing wind

they live so short
many merrits many merrits
He said to the dog
I saw they vanish in the forest
still the weeping flute
with that lamenting tune
takes the tears
out from my eyes......
