The World Wouldn't Be The Same! Poem by Malabika Ray Choudhury

The World Wouldn't Be The Same!

Rating: 5.0

Dawn!
The most cherished part of my day!
Usually I glimpse through the window from my bed,
And wish for a few more hours of sleep!
Some days, when I don't have to, I get up
And perch on the Muskoka lounger in my backyard,
Enjoying every second, every minute of that surreal experience!
I am a part of this wide, magical Earth,
Part of that celebratory moment!
The World wouldn't be the same without me,
And without You!

Deep Blue sky, with a mix of gorgeous red from the East,
Sometimes it's just a dot,
Like a red dot on the forehead of an enchanting woman from the Orient,
Then it grows bigger and bigger, enveloping the horizon,
A few white clouds floating, carefree, like my favourite Kash flowers,
Our great creator has announced his arrival, but hasn't arrived yet.

Some days, it's still dark and unusually mysterious,
Awed, I gaze at the sky from my bed,
Stars still blinking,
Dark sky studded with millions of them,
Each one has a poignant story to tell,
Very strangely A Full Moon, round and silvery,
Refuses to disappear,
Although her contender is about to rise.

I am mesmerized!

Yes, I agree, dawn has something magical about it. A poem that begins well and ends even better.

Thank you so much. I always loved dawn, my best part of the day - when the world is calm and quiet, and we enjoy nature at its best! Delighted to share with you.
