There Had To Have Been A Reason Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

There Had To Have Been A Reason

Do I place my shoes,
Around or near your bed?
Have I laid under your sheets,
With pillows under our heads?

And 'IF' I have offended you,
By anything I've ever said...
There had to have been a reason,
To do what I did without excuses instead.

Since you are not an investment,
I can feel and see...
Would ever keep me interested.
With a dividend that benefits a relationship,
I would ultimately dread!
