These Things Make Me Happy Poem by Juan Olivarez

These Things Make Me Happy

Rating: 5.0

A rain pregnant cloud,
Slowly moving my way.
A mockingbird's song,
To start the day.

The first cool breeze,
Of the early fall.
A child happily playing,
With a new rubber ball.

My puppy dog curled up,
Around my boots.
New life from cuttings,
As it slowly takes root.

Month old kittens,
Pouncing around.
Scaring each other,
Making tiny cat sounds.

The sun on my back,
On a cold winters day.
Warming my old body,
Like a morning in May.

The golden moon in,
The evening sky.
As slow moving clouds,
Across her face fly.

A cold glass of water,
On a hot summer day.
a newborn calf,
Looking up from the hay.

The look in her eyes,
When she smiles at me.
These are the things,
That make me happy.

Oh yea, definately. I understand. It's good, and made me happy reading it.

There are so many things in this sad world to make us feel happy, we just need to look. Great poem Juan, enjoyed reading, and when I am sad, which is quite often these days, perhaps I will recall your poem.
