They Matter Naught To Me. Poem by Kim Dang

They Matter Naught To Me.

Forge divisions at our intersection, our possibilities limitless
Whisper to me your insecurities beneath all this spotted darkness
Our hair lie in tangles alternating between wooden floors and grass dews
Tell me of that once upon a time story, that day when we abandoned all our virtues

It's almost desperate, the sound of your dreams, convinced they're make believe
Convinced that your magic, this crazy interaction, it's because of me
I dared to shake you of this aberration, of your humility,
How can you keep being so engaging, so easily

Self inflicted felony, I'll pardon your misdemeanor,
Show me one note, one tune, I'll caress your inner singer,
It's this moment in this second, it's damn near burning
the way our eyes speak.
In disbelief the rest will question my sanity,
their opinions?
they matter naught to me.
