They Say
they say we have seen the rose wilt
and reckoned how it suffers guilt
ashes into water
sand into bay
standing numb as are the stilt
they say we know the pain
and when you are driven insane
drizzling in the mist
fog and smog
bewildering thoughts as fall the rain
they say we have faith in thee
and put their trust in me
up bring the chance
so to enhance
yet there alone is she
