This Isn't America Anymore Poem by Randy McClave

This Isn't America Anymore

Rating: 5.0

Hard working people are losing their jobs
Wealthy bragging corporations cheats and robs,
I looked at the mocked and the ridiculed poor
I now know that this isn't my America anymore.

Football players fell down to their knees
Protesting for the rights of others was their pleas,
A pledge to our allegiance and belief many had swore
But, this isn't that America anymore.

White supremacists parade and march down the street
Politicians then do their meet and a greet,
Racism and bigotry and hate like blood does pour
This isn't our America anymore.

Many preach Jesus then sing in a Sunday school choir
But, when they are alone many are just a liar,
Lightning will then flash and then the thunder will roar
As though God is saying, this isn't America anymore.

Randy, I enjoyed reading your poem. You're right, it is not the America we once knew. I rate a 10 and have added it to my favorite poem list.
