Thorns Could Not Sleep All Night Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Thorns Could Not Sleep All Night

Due their fragrant smell,
Captivating spell,
Or for no reason at all,

Flowers that offer no fight,
My wards, may face plight,
Poor thorns could not sleep all night.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We poets often paint thorns as villains and in many a poor light. But they are the protectors of flowers that are defenceless against birds and beasts alike. This pair of Haikus has a different take.

Here I see a pair of Haikus with a Poet's Note which are interesting, meaningful and beautiful. It may be perceived that thorns can't sleep due to captivating spell of flowers though they are the protectors of them. Thank you very much dear Pathak sir, may God bless you.
