Time Done To Listen Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Time Done To Listen

Time done to listen,
Doesn't sit awaiting but moves ahead.

When people don't take time to listen.
Or refuse to hear a word one says.
They may one day regret the act.
Since what to dismiss with attention to give,
Seldom is laying around awakening from a nap.

Time done to listen,
Doesn't sit awaiting but moves ahead.
Leaving thoughtless minds left behind.
Time done to listen,
Is that time to hear to know what's said.

Accusations.
Are often made by those who excuse,
What they do to blame on others.
Accusations made.
Only proves who do this are fools.

Time done to listen,
Takes...
Appreciation.
For one who maybe wishing,
Information to deliver.
In decent conversation.
Without a confrontation.

Time done to listen,
Takes...
A willingness to hear,
What's being said.
And not later to discover,
Who the fool was to one day dread!

It pays to listen.
Not dismiss.
One never knows how they will benefit!
