Time Heals All Wounds Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Time Heals All Wounds

Rating: 5.0

The more of the past,
One has been blessed to live...
To experience.
The more difficult it is,
Not to reminisce or forget...
The unexpected.

And being pro-active,
Does not guarantee...
Anyone who prepares,
For whatever may come...
Seldom will anyone confess,
Emotionally...
They had awaited for it.
Staying calm and ready.
The smell of B.S. delivered,
Few will admit...
Accepting this,
Had been...
On their anticipation list!

Words heard to hear,
From others to say...
'I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL.
TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS.'
And what it is one should do,
With patience and tolerance.
Yet not to know,
What one has tolerated.
With a holding onto patience.
Fading away on a daily basis.

And those other words,
Often heard to hear.
About it never being too late.
And that dawn will come,
To eventually erase heartache.
Are those words coming,
From the ones...
Who may have good intentions.
However...
There are times that come,
Good intentions to mention...
Can escalate into an argument.
With it later to wish,
Quicker had been...
An apology to give it.
Than expressing to another,
What it is they can kiss.
To reminisce,
How much easier...
An asking to be forgiven,
For temporary losing...
Patience and tolerance.
With it then to explain,
What occurred and when.
And why they both,
Got up to leave!
With a keeping those wounds,
A personal healing.
And not to permanently...
Burn bridges unable to rebuild!
