Great big Clocks,
Gigantic pocket watches
Hanging in our face
A brand new style
Of chic decoration
In a very obvious place
On our living room walls
These enormous Time Monsters
Are placed,
Over the mantle, spying
All the time we waste.
Why should we,
Have to be,
Reminded so insistently
Of Time's inevitable march?
It does not feel good,
To have Time laughing
In our face,
Since whether we want it or not
It's always Time,
That wins life's final race.
