Timeless Poems Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Timeless Poems

Rating: 5.0

The best poem of a poet
Is the last one he says
Poems written before seem
To be forgotten entities

Only fresh poems get
Comments one or two
Uncommented old poem's
A misplaced book on shelf.

Freshness' what we look for
In fruit, vegetable, or meat
Freshness' all that matters
In everything that we eat.

Yet old is gold we say
And enjoy old poems
Old masters we never
Forget even in dreams.

Their poetry shines for ever
We're happy to memorize lines
Our own old poems we note
Were fresh when they appeared.

Dear poet let poetry live
Write and deliver'em fresh
All your poems one day'll
Be appreciated as timeless.

Beautiful and thoughtful poem from your pen. Very true said, Let the poetry live for long and a day come where all poems will be appreciated. It's also sad to note some poem remain untouched by any comments, though it was once fresh. Now it remained in shelf as old. Let us hope one day it will be appreciated, as we have seen many times, appreciation comes later.....Loved the way you presented it step by step. Thanks for sharing with us.

Good reflection, my fellow poet. I think this poem can put someone in the perfect mood for writing the next stanza of my never ending poem. Please visit on my page, the never ending poem of good ideas and if you are willing, please write the next stanza.

Old or new doesn't matter...! . Poems of real quality will stand the test of time. No wonder Shakespeare, Keats and Wordsworth continue to reign our thoughts.... Let us strive to rise to that level... The old saying urges us to look for the stars...! ! . A great write!

It's sad that that some old poems don't get us much atrention as the new ones. But your poem captured that nicely and it gave some hope for those poems. Loved it!
