Timely Tanka Poem by Walterrean Salley

Timely Tanka

Rating: 5.0

In stark silence, the
Ticking sound of the clock made
Me ever aware
Of the fleeting moments of
Time, and its affect ‘pon life.

How does time affect
Life? It does in every way.
Time determines birth
And death—Ah, two of the most
Important aspects of life.

Time determines dawn
And sunset. All the seasons
Are under her watch.
Even the tide is given
Into her right fateful Hands.

And what is more, the
Universe marches to the
Tune of time’s ticking
Song. The sun, moon, and stars of
Light, they all sing her chorus.

Soundly philosophical with wonderful lyricisms, Time is the reminder of what we have and what we must do, it is so so fleeting and it never seems that we have the time to do the things we want to be the people we want. Somehow you do not make the subject matter depressing, you make it wonderful. Beautiful job

Yes everything is bound by Time... the invisible presence that dictates birth, death and the movement of sun, moon stars and even the universe! ! A great poem!
