Today I Sat To Collect My Tears
I sat to collect my tears
in an earthern cup
and hid it carefully
behind my smiling mask.
I hid my sufferings and grinned
at everyone on the way.
They thought i am happy
but it was a simple lie.
I hid behind my mask
my painful bleeding heart.
Everything is torninside me.
They saw only my mask.
The memory of those who
cheated me purposely
carved my soul and heart.
I cried silently and prayed.
My prayer to christ was:
Thank you Lord for helping
me to join in your passion.
They crucified me and i bleed.
Today i want to pray:
„God forgive them", but
I am a simple human being.
Please give me your forgiving mind.
I sat to collect my tears in an earthern cup and hid it carefully behind my smiling mask. I hid my sufferings and grinned at everyone on the way. They thought i am happy but it was a simplelie. - - - - - - - A profound poetic expression of your pains. Hiding pains behind a smile is not easy. In the last stanza your kind heart forgives those who hurt you.

Tony, I just read this for the first time. The first stanza is striking—that is poetry! ! ! Good stuff! Forgiving, letting go, can be a challenge. Don’t know if you’re familiar with Corrie Ten Boom or her book The Hiding Place. Her Dutch family hid Jews from the Nazis and was caught and sent to a concentration camp. A big part of her story was forgiving their concentration camp tormentors. She came to the Albuquerque premier of the movie based on her book. As I recall she likened holding on to hurts like stuffing rags into a flash light. She encouragingly talked about forgiveness being a decision to let go before God. This was the important thing. Reminders of the hurt would likely come back, but the decision had been made which we recall and stand by as they do. This helped me. Who of us, thinking of the Lord’s prayer, would want anyone else to bear a grudge against us into eternity? Be well, brother. Glen
