Today's Love - Poem by Sanjukta Nag

There was never
A collision
Between the little hearts
Of a liberated heart
Called love.
Until modern civilization
Taught us,
Love is not just
A breathtaking feeling,
It's a decision
Made of
Severe complexities.

Too many complexities that we ourselves create in your life for no reasons.. Loving people was meant to be the simplest thing to do, humans should have just loved each other, instead what we got is 'complexities'.. A beautifully crafted poem Sanjukta. I keep coming back to your page when I need a look at tender poetry. Yours is exactly that. (Report) Reply

Nice piece of work with the muse of love! Love is not a decision; it either hit you or leave you. Thanks for sharing. (Report) Reply

So beautifully you have put across the theory of love in modern times. It has witnessed a sea change over the years. It is much more complex in its character than it used to be. Thanks for such an amazing poetic study. (Report) Reply

Indeed a modern love..........Space is less to accommodate in heart yet flats are getting bigger and bigger, care is less to shower on yet bank balances are increasing day by day...........A thought provoking poem.......Rating You know... (Report) Reply
