Toi Lost The Remote Poem by Colette Dright

Toi Lost The Remote

My dog died
The lights got cut off
I just got fired
Toi lost the remote

My house in foreclosure
Johnny got robbed
My car got wrecked
Toi lost the remote

My momma in the hospital
I cracked my cell phone
I'm pregnant
Look! Toi lost the remote

I failed the test to graduate
My motor went out
My husband left me
You heard what I said... Toi lost the remote

They cut me off food stamp
My nephew got shot
I can't find my keys
My daddy in jail

All I know is... Toi lost the remote

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
With all that is going on in the world and all the phone calls people get with serious issues and crisis going on, all I get is a phone call from my daughter saying her twin Toi lost the remote, I'll take it. Well, when it was all said and done, Toi really didn't lose the remote,
it was on the bed under the covers of the one calling me.
But the situation inspired me to write and thank God for His favor. It could have been so much worse. I am forever grateful. Thank You God!
