Too Small Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Too Small

Love itself can be such a wild thing.
Sometimes it can be glamorous,
Often times more than not.
That's the beauty of a human heart.
It's real, raw, and beating.
Trinkets are the best form of flattery,
But they aren't real.
When you gave me your heart,
I stuffed it in my pocket,
It pressed my keys, my chapstick,
And my loose change against my leg.
The bulge pulling my pocket down.
If I'd known, I would've made room.
But again, the best things in life
Happen out of the blue.
Nothing in this world is perfect,
This being one of the best reminders.
The weight of all of you,
Trying to fit into a pocket
That's way too small
