Torn Poem by Sarah Mc Cabe

Torn

She looked at him, tears spilling for being so naïve.
He watched her, voice breaking with pleading words ‘’please don’t leave.’’
She was torn, in the middle, confused by which road to take.
He knew it wasn’t easy, the decisions he asked her to make.

She shook with guiltiness (the timer ran out) this was her last day.
He was never bitter, just sad that he couldn’t make her stay.
Her heart started to crumble and her tears trickled like a stream.
He understood deep down she had to follow her dream.

She hugged him close making a memory before she ran for the door.
He whispered goodbye, his body numb, his heart forever sore.
