Why did you leave me when I needed you the most?
Knowing I’d search high and low, from ocean to ocean and from coast to coast
Why did you have to, have to make me cry?
You didn’t even give me the chance to say a proper goodbye
Why did you not wait, did you know how heartbreaking it was for me?
Why am I being so selfish and not let you live in peace and harmony?
Why do I still pray to the stars and to the moon?
Asking, wanting, begging God that I can see you oh so soon
Why won’t you come back and put a smile upon my face?
All I want right now is your loving warm embrace
Why is it that I question why I love you even more each and every day?
I now know that it’s all in my mind, that you’re always with me in your own special way
