Total Selfishness Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Total Selfishness

Love and care
Both are looking fair
Love is very much needed
If advice has to be heeded

Let child pick up compassion
With no desire or obsession
He or she must be taught to be tolerant
It is duty of responsible parents

“Why did you not offer resistance” many parents sold
“Try to be retaliatory” in plain terms they are told
Child picks quarrel
To come home with pride and tell

We are sounding him to be impatient
Guide him to be present
Wherever some benefits are there
Child becomes over ambitious and remains eager

Total selfishness does not work
Promises prove as hollow words
It needs total commitment
To stand firm and oppose vehemently if looks unfair

World needs few people
Who wage struggle
And stand side by side
For the destiny to decide
